Gloucester Fridge business celebrates national expansion |
With champagne chilled in their own fridges, Display Refrigeration Hire Limited is celebrating its expansion, which has established them as a nationwide firm just over three years after starting up.
The firm is now one of the largest suppliers of temporary refrigeration to many leading supermarkets, including Tesco, Asda, Budgens and J Sainsbury. They also provide temporary display and storage units for food exhibitions and sporting events, which has put the Gloucestershire business on the map across the UK.

The national coverage marks a further feather in the cap of a company that started from scratch in September 2001. Since then it has doubled its turnover and resources every year, and now occupies a 20,000 square foot purpose built office and warehouse operation in Gloucester's Olympus Business Park. The company has over 700 refrigeration units and run a 24 hour, nationwide operation. Display Refrigeration Hire Limited was set up by Mark Febery, Nicky Russell and Clive Middlecote. They have all worked in the hire industry for over fifteen years and spotted an opportunity to offer a more personal service. They started off in rented premises a quarter of the size of their current home. Initially the three directors did everything from contacting companies to sell their services, to driving the vans and cleaning the friges when they returned. Since then the company has grown to a position where it has a further £500,000 worth of fridges, and a team of fifteen people to ensure the comapny's services are in demand across the country. Commenting on the expnsion, Managing Director Marke Febrey says, "We're thrilled that we have established the business nationwide so soon after starting up, and that the idea for a 24 hour, seven day a week operation has been such a success. It is so important to us that we can speak to our clients at any time, and work around the clock to ensure that fridges arrive just when they are needed."
